污染的英文是contaminated。

自然环境中混入了对人类或其他生物有害的物质，其数量或程度达到或超出环境承载力，从而改变环境正常状态的现象。具体包括：水污染、大气污染、噪声污染、放射性污染、重金属污染等。

空气中某些物质的含量超过正常含量时，形成危害动、植物，影响其生存的现象。大气中物质的正常含量均在百万分之一以下，对动、植物没有明显的不良影响。
